This role supports China GM to drive business strategy formation across food animal and pet health, and support the implementation of the strategy. The position develops strategies, defines critical success factors (esp. innovation pipelines), and designs compelling scorecards for Elanco Greater China business. In addition to the strategic components, the position is charged with developing and implementing more sophisticated policies and procedures both in the finance, and general operational realms, touching many aspects of business support functions including finance, marketing, digital, sales, supply chain, quality, innovation etc.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
Strategy and Operations
- Drive the implementation and the follow-ups of China 5-year growth strategy
- Refresh China digitalization strategy; Support implementation of digital strategy, both in commercial and in business operations
- Own market insights analysis (with support from brand managers) in both food animals and pet health market analysis
- Drive, and coordinate new product development discussion with global functions, on behalf of commercial teams
- Facilitate periodic business reviews of achievements and performance versus strategic plans in region and with countries.
- Implements all business processes on time and in quality to achieve project milestones and report status at key intervals to relevant stakeholders and to ensure overall business/site organizational readiness
- Support the necessary BD (M&A) work and work with local and global BD team This includes to identify, investigate, and evaluate acquisitions/divestitures, licensing opportunities and strategic business alliances beyond distribution agreements that are in line with the organization's long-range goals
- Regular business update including monthly business dashboard analysis, earnings call preparations, performance analysis (on need base) etc.
Project Management
- Managing different business related project in a need basis. Drive detailed planning, kick off, execution coordination and tracking, ensure implementation of all business processes on time and in quality;
- Support Asia and/or global projects as China representative
- Co-lead the capabilities building projects including Strategic Account Capabilities (sales competencies, Elanco Knowledge solution roll out support etc.)
- Coordinate strategic and operational priorities as well execution across relevant commercial support functions. Serve as first point of contact for IT, supply chain, quality, ethics & compliance, finance, six sigma, R&D, market access, innovation.
- Manage special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications):
- Strategic analysis experience is a MUST, either in consulting firms, or large corporations
- Preferred 10 years+ of working experience, preferably with healthcare or consumer industry experience or solid experience in project, consulting, commercial or, sales or marketing roles.
- Fluent English, spoken and written
- Education: University graduate, preferred with a MBA.
- Strong sense of responsibility, self-motivated and good team spirit, with high leadership qualities
- Understanding of business processes, having the knowledge of business model, internal stakeholders, priorities and expectations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with great idea and keeping the business and customer focus
- Strong presentation and communication skills, comfort around senior management
- Ability to work successfully with people from a variety of different cultures and backgrounds
- Experience: Process-management skills & Project Management experience
