Summary

Maxeon is seeking a Staff PD&D Engineer to be part of the world class manufacturing group at Maxeon Corporation. This person should be an independent thinker and self-driven individual with demonstrated ability to deliver results under demanding environment and timeline. In this role, he/she will be responsible for the development of next generation technologies for module manufacturing. This position will work closely with US and Singapore R&D teams, a new product integration team and Global Manufacturing to implement new products in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the qualification of new equipment and new process, design equipment functions and process flows for photovoltaic (PV) module to meet quality, reliability, cost, safety and manufacturability targets.
Develop and optimize process for manufacturing and assembly of new modules or material components, define equipment capacity and debug equipment to meet process windows.
Work directly with product engineering, operations, and engineering deployment groups to successfully find the best process flow and process window for use in high volume manufacturing. Will Extend support to equipment engineers to help define, develop, and optimize processes for manufacturing and assembly of new process related components.
Fully understand qualification testing requirements and be able to effectively manage multiple project tasks and work effectively in a cross functional team.
Other responsibilities include timely resolution of technical and quality issues, building samples on production line, testing samples in the lab, and drive qualification and reliability test plans (QRTP) together with R&D and Reliability partners.

Education and Experience

BS +8 years’ experience/MS +4 years’ experience/PhD +0 years’ experience in Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering fields.
Experience in Photovoltaics and/or Semiconductor industry required preferably in technology development/transfer environment.
Experience in equipment or process development for manufacturability
Familiar with module assembly processing and process controls
Familiar with photovoltaics device and their operation
Good knowledge of DOE (Design of Experiment), PCR (Process Step Characterization Review)
Good knowledge and experience in data analysis, use of statistical methods
Experience in leading Topcon/MBB development projects is a plus
Familiar with PCP, FMEA, DOE, 8D, KT Root Cause Analysis

Computer/software knowledge. Knowledge of MS Office tools, statistical analysis of data (eg. JMP) and Excel macros

Be willing to travel (international) for business trips with short notice
Fluent in Chinese and English
Strong hands-on ability
